Delete Your Account
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This page explains how to delete your account for Men of Hunger, the app and website developed by John McGlone.
Delete your account in the app
- Open Men of Hunger and sign in.
- Go to Settings and choose Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete account.
On the website, go to Settings, choose Delete my account…, and type DELETE to confirm.
Request deletion without the app
If you can’t sign in or no longer have the app, ask us to delete your account through our public feedback form or by emailing hello@menofhunger.com. You do not need to sign in. Say that you want your account deleted and include your username.
What happens next
- Your account is hidden and you are signed out immediately.
- Permanent deletion is scheduled for 30 days later. Signing in before the deadline cancels deletion.
- A private status link shows progress and completion. It expires 90 days after the scheduled date. We also send confirmation if you have a verified email address.
What is deleted and what is kept
- Deleted: your profile, personal content, messages, stored fitness data, and provider connections.
- Kept: empty deleted-content placeholders may remain to preserve other members' replies.
- Backups follow our hosting provider’s retention cycle and are not used to restore a deleted account to the service.
- If you used MARV, OpenAI may retain API data to operate its service and prevent abuse; deleting your account does not recall information already sent.
Subscriptions
- The Android app does not sell anything, so there is nothing to cancel there.
- Apple subscriptions continue until you cancel them in Apple subscription settings. Account deletion does not cancel Apple billing.
- We cancel web subscriptions when permanent deletion begins; you can cancel sooner in Billing.
