How Friends works

On Men of Hunger, only people who follow each other can become friends. Follow someone and you see their posts. Follow each other and you’re mutuals. Then either of you can ask, and once the other says yes, you’re friends.

The fine print

Mutuals only You can only ask someone who follows you back. Until you follow each other, Be friends? stays locked.
Verified only Friends is for verified members. If either of you isn’t verified yet, Be friends? waits.
Either of you can ask It doesn’t matter who followed first. Whoever asks, the other one answers.
A no is quiet If Dan says Not now, Ben is never told. Ben just sees Requested for 30 days.
Unfollow ends it Unfollow a friend and the friendship ends too. The app warns you first.
Remove friend keeps the follows Remove a friend from their profile and you’re back to mutuals. They aren’t told.
